Size Your Heater!

Do you want or need to know which type of propane heater is right for you? You should start by determining the following:

What is the cubic feet of the area you need to heat? To calculate the area dimensions you multiply the length by width by height (Length x Width x Height) to get the total of Cubic Feet.

What is the desired temperature increase you want to acheive with the heater? To calculate use this fomula:
(Desired temperature (with Heater) - Area temperature (without heater)) = Desired Temperature Increase

Calculate the BTU's required to achieve desired temperature. Calculate ((Total Cubic Feet x .133) x Desired Temperature Increase) = BTU's Required

The above calculations are estimates to measure your needs, however building construction may also contribute to BTU requirements so you may want to talk with a professional to help with your selection.
